Platform · Data and access

The portal reads your account and changes nothing in it

What we pull from Google Ads and Merchant Center, how deep we store it and which of your people can see it. Plus two ways to connect — the usual one, and one for those who want a guarantee rather than a promise.

The portal changes nothing without your consent.

What the portal takes

  • Campaigns, budgets and settings
  • Impressions, spend and orders by day
  • Products and how each of them sells
  • The queries people find you by
  • The account's change history
  • The product feed and Google's remarks on it

What this access doesn't include at all

  • Access to your site and shop admin
  • Your passwords
  • Payment cards
  • The contacts and data of your customers

What the portal can and cannot do

The portal cannot change your campaigns — there is no such button in it

The portal reads data, computes on it and shows the result. A change cannot be made from the portal in any section: the “what to do” plan you carry out yourself in Google Ads. Want us to make the changes? We will — but only on your decision, never on our own.

How to check this

Open the change history of your own Google Ads account — there are no changes from us there.

Why Google asks for more on its own screen

The Google Ads API has no separate read-only access: the same scope covers both reading and writing. That is why Google’s list sounds broader than what the portal actually does.

The list on that screen is assembled from the names of the access scopes and doesn't know what exactly the application will do with them. So it is worth reading alongside what you see on this page.

For the portal to work in full, tick both boxes on the Google screen — Google Ads and Merchant Center.

What people usually run into

Three conversations that happen every time access comes up.

“We don't give anyone access to our ad account”

The rule didn't appear out of nowhere: a contractor once changed bids without asking, and the account has been closed to everyone since.

What the portal does

You won't have to break the rule. Set up a separate Google account, give it the Read only role in your account and sign in to the portal with it. The portal will get no more than that role.

“An agency runs the account, I'm not even an admin on it”

The account is registered to the agency, and the shop owner has either little access to it or none at all.

What the portal does

The portal shows the accounts your Google account already has access to. If there is none at all — ask the administrator to grant your email the Read only role: for them it is one button.

“I've connected three services already and I don't remember who kept what”

Access was granted at different times to different people, and nobody keeps a list.

What the portal does

Every application that has access is visible in your Google account settings — and that is where it can be revoked. The portal will see that and stop taking data.

Connecting

Two ways in — you choose

The first is faster, the second is calmer. Both work the same: the portal sees exactly what the person who signed in sees.

Sign in with Google

A minute, no card needed

  1. 1 You press “Sign in with Google Ads”
  2. 2 On the Google screen you tick both boxes — Google Ads and Merchant Center
  3. 3 The portal shows the accounts you have access to — you pick yours

Your own numbers show up about a minute after signing in.

Signing in with an account that holds the Read only role

Ten minutes longer, but the guarantee sits on Google's side

Sign in with a Google account that holds the Read only role in your account. The portal fully inherits the permissions of whoever signed in, so it cannot change anything even in theory: Google rejects the attempt — the user lacks the permissions.

  1. 1 You set up a separate Google account — reports@your-domain, for instance
  2. 2 In your Google Ads account you give it the Read only access level. Same in Merchant Center — that is a separate list of people
  3. 3 You sign in to the portal with that account
Step by step: how to grant that role →

In both cases

The portal only reads. The difference is in what backs it: in the first case our word and your own change history, in the second permissions on Google's side that we cannot get around.

Merchant Center is a separate product with its own list of people, and a role in Google Ads doesn't extend to it. The portal works without it, but the feed section stays empty.

Access inside the company

Which of your staff will see this

Exactly those you opened the account to yourself. The portal creates no permissions of its own: it looks at what a person already has in Google Ads.

Full members

Those with their own access to this account in Google Ads. They sign in with Google and see the account in the portal.

To remove someone: revoke their access in Google Ads — the seat in the portal frees up on its own.

Invited viewers

You can invite by email someone who has no access in Google Ads: an accountant, a partner, a new hire. They see only this account — view and export tables, no changes.

To remove someone: revoke the invitation in the portal, it is one button.

How many people depends on the plan. On the free one that is 2 members and 1 invited viewer.

Depth

Google erases history, the portal stacks it up

Google has retention limits of its own. The detailed record — what exactly was changed in the account — lives less than a month; the bare fact of a change is visible for three months. And the Merchant Center catalogue exists only in its present-day form: what appeared and what disappeared, Google doesn't remember. The portal takes these records to itself on the day of the update and keeps them from there on.

How long this is kept

  • What exactly was changed in Google Ads less than a month
  • The bare fact of a change — what and when three months
  • The Merchant Center catalogue today's only
  • In the portal stacks up from day one

On first connection

The portal asks Google for up to two years of product history. How much it hands over depends on the age of the account: a young shop simply doesn't have two years.

What depends on the plan

Two things: how deep the account shows history, and how often the portal comes for fresh data. Refreshing runs by itself, without you.

Access

Sign in with Google in one click — Google Ads and Merchant Center. The portal changes nothing without your consent.

Plan

The score, products, campaign structure and conversions — on every plan, including the free one. History depth and refresh frequency depend on the plan.

Window

On first connection the portal asks for up to two years of product history, then takes fresh data by itself.

Common questions

Will the portal be able to change my campaigns?

No. There is no button in the portal that writes anything to Google Ads, in any section: the “what to do” plan you carry out yourself. It is checked in your own account change history — there are no changes from us there. And if you want a guarantee rather than a promise, sign in with a Google account that holds the Read only role.

Why does Google say “view, edit and delete”?

The Google Ads API has no separate read-only access: the same scope covers both reading and writing. That is why Google’s list sounds broader than what the portal actually does.

The Google screen is assembled from the names of the access scopes and doesn't know what exactly the application will do with them.

How do I disconnect?

Revoke access in your Google account settings, or remove it in Google Ads itself — the portal will see that and stop taking data. The portal settings also have account deletion: it stops the updates and closes off the sign-in in one go.

Do I have to connect Merchant Center?

The portal will work without it: the score, campaign structure and products will be computed. What stays empty is the feed breakdown — Google's remarks, competitors' prices and the reasons a product doesn't reach impressions all live in Merchant Center. It is a separate product, so access to it is granted separately.

Can I show the portal to someone who has no access in Google Ads?

Yes. Invite them by email — they sign in with their own Google account and see only this account: view and export tables, no changes. How many such invitations you get depends on the plan.
